“Humor is really the only way I operate. It's the main lens I look through to process things. I don't know that I'd say it changes the way I do things as much as defines it. I've always felt like it's suggested that if you look at everything humorously it's a defense mechanism for avoiding real or serious things, but I don't necessarily think that's true. It certainly can be true, but I also think some people are just wired to see the world from the perspective of its incongruities and contradictions and are amused by that. I'm probably one of those people.
It's also the only area of the social sphere that I have any proficiency in, so I have to cultivate it if I want to get that sweet, sweet peer approval.”
